Hey everyone! For our ELEVENTH annual event on Friday, August 13th, we are planning to connect in person as safely as we possibly can. Registration will open tomorrow, Friday, July 16th. We’ll cap the numbers at a moderate size so we can maintain safe and comfortable distances.
If the weather cooperates, we can connect outside for our conversations underneath the tents that we used for outdoor classrooms this past school year.
The tents will have seating, whiteboards, and wifi access but no projection.
We also have Adirondack chairs around campus that can be spaces for planned sessions or spontaneous chats throughout the day.
As of the date of this posting (7/15/21), face coverings are not required when outdoors on campus. However, participants are welcome to wear masks outdoors if they are more comfortable.
If the weather does not cooperate, our back-up plan is to move indoors, where we’ve held Edcamp CT since 2011. We would need to follow state mandates and the guidelines of our school. As of the date of this posting (7/15/21), face coverings must be worn inside all school buildings. Additionally, visitors who will be entering school buildings must provide either their vaccination card and be fully vaccinated or a negative PCR test result within 3 days of entering the building. Should these regulations change before the date of our event, Fri 8/13/21, we will communicate those updates.
However and wherever we connect this year, we know there is much to discuss about moving forward with teaching and learning. We look forward to the conversations we’ll have together, as we connect, share, and learn for the eleventh year in a row. Hope to see some familiar faces and new ones as well! Fingers crossed for good enough weather to be outside; if not, we’ll adapt! We’ve all gotten pretty good at that.
